Acting

Become a transformative and mercurial actor.
Remake and reinvigorate your work and love of acting.
Fill in the gaps in your knowledge and skill.
Shape your chosen artistic course.

Get the WORK you WANT.

I've been a professional working actor, fight choreographer, director, writer, and musician since 2008.

I love this work.

My favorite thing is when an unexpected detail is added

to the moment that clicks

in an actor's mind/body/soul

in a way unfelt before,

and they shift into something entirely new to them.

That's what the goal is everytime.

That's why I do this.

Are you just starting out and -
  • you don't know where to begin?
  • you feel uncertain that you have what it takes to quit your 9-5 and make your break?
  • you don't have the money for college training programs or conservatories?
  • you have no training and want to know what "action/objective" is all about?
  • you think you love this work, and you want a place to thoroughly study but haven't found the right person/place?
  • you want to train but can't move/take time off from work?
Are you an experienced actor but -
  • you are tired of not hearing back after auditions?
  • you feel like you're always overlooked for the roles that you really want?
  • you don't know what can make the difference between callbacks and booking?
  • you're unsure of your type, or if that's even important?
  • you're scared you have to move to start building a career?
  • you're unsure what you really want your career+life to look like?
  • you know you're good but aren't sure what you're missing to feel like you're great?

determination

this is a long game.

there are a lot of rejections, missteps, unknowns, and it's different for all.

you need the determination it takes to make it through the days when you doubt yourself, the days when you want to quit, and the famine years when they come.

curiosity

curiosity leads to wonder, discovery, listening, play, partnering - honestly everything you need to be a great actor, it kind of all starts here.

not judgement or labeling - but curiosity.

what happens if i...

objectivity

how do you look at your own work, and art in general objectively?

how do you watch a show your friends are in and not be biased?

how do you respect the craft enough to recognize what's happening vs what you want to happen?

essential if you want to get great at giving yourself notes.

flexibility

the name of the game is - roll with it.

every gig is different, every job is different, every boss wants something different.

you've got to be good enough to see what is being asked of you in what way, and deliver A+ work in every setting

self-knowledge

you are your instrument. you are a stunt driver of the soul.

how can you drive it well if you don't know what it's made of, how it functions, what it likes/doesn't like, fears, loves, hates?

honestly, i think every actor's first step should be therapy.

CoachClark here...

and I'm obsessed with this work.

I've been a coach since I was a kid. Mentoring, teaching, and guiding has always been something I took to well. Acting, not so much. It took me a long time to get good at this stuff.

I wasn't naturally gifted, I didn't come from a theatrical or artistic background, I had no connections, and very little money.

What I did have was stubbornness, determination, and delusion.

A stubbornness to not quit. To understand. To get better. To keep moving forward. To see opportunity in the mishaps. To see feedback in the criticism. To see growth in the failure.

A determination to not let the world dictate what my path could look like, but to do whatever I had to to create the kind of day-to-day life that I truly wanted, and that would make me content.

A delusion that I could do it. That I could be exactly where I wanted to be, even though I had no evidence or proof that it was possible, feasible, or even likely.

NOW, all I do is act, teach, choreograph, and write.

I make all my money from art, I own a business, I am a concisely working equity actor in Atlanta, and I am a very well reviewed, award-winning performer.

A lot of talk about "what separates you," "what you need," "how you make it," clouds the airways, especially on social media. But those who do this know that there is only one thing that you need to make it work, and that will make a difference.

A refusal to quit.

If you can develop that, everything else can be developed as well.

What are Actors Saying?

c3d785_a43634652010485da6fd1fc2f892d79f~
"This Intensive completely changed how I think about and understand this work. Not only did Coach Clark provide tangible and effective methods to apply to my craft that I already feel have upped my audition game, but he also asked questions that helped to push my mindset from the short-term worry over booking jobs and self-tape takes to a holistic, long-term perspective on how I can become a fulfilled artist and human inside and outside of the theatre industry.
Coach Clark is cool, he cares, and he possesses a scarily accurate ability to know just what exercise or question an actor needs to prompt a discovery that changes how they understand the work."
